The short version
Painting a rim freehand with a fan brush gives character.
Ludic Lillian is a small family studio: the tea is blended and filled by hand, and the ceramics are slip cast by hand — or rescued from landfills and estate sales — then hand-painted, one at a time. Nothing sits in a warehouse. Every pouch is blended or filled to order and sent soon afterward, so what arrives is as fresh as loose-leaf tea gets by post.
Three lines, three moods
Brigid — named for the keeper of the hearth. The caffeinated line: black teas and blends for the morning, long afternoons or when alertness is required in the evening.
Lillian — the namesake. Naturally caffeine-free tisanes, never decaffeinated — herbal and fruit infusions for anytime or the evening wind-down.
The Púca — named for the shape-shifting spirit that never quite behaves. Green teas, mate, and whatever the season turns up. Caffeine varies with the blend.
The ceramics
Fresh out of the kiln — the color only shows up after the fire.
The bowls, mugs, and little dishes are slip cast or rescued from landfills and estate sales, then hand-painted one at a time — functional art, made to be used every day, and no two quite alike. New pieces appear as they come out of the kiln.
